I have a good amount of hobbies; from watching TV to cooking and reading. They’ve all helped me become a better version of myself. Lots of people say that TV is bad for you and that it distracts you… I agree that it distracts you, but I think that it distracts you in a good way. Many people are too caught up doing work to sit down and watch something. I don’t think that your life should be spent working. Through watching TV, I understand how to take a break sometimes. I love cooking because the products are delicious and it’s fun to mess around in the kitchen. I really enjoy learning new recipes and putting a twist on them to see what goes well together. I cook with my mom sometimes and we create our own secret recipes. By cooking, I learned not only how to survive on my own when I’m older– and got closer to my mom– but most importantly that making mistakes is okay because they can always be fixed. Another hobby I enjoy is reading. From poetry, to mystery, to many other novels. There are so many options to choose from. I love the feeling of opening up a book, diving into it, and unraveling the details of it. Not only is it interesting, but it also helps me to expand my vocabulary. I love my hobbies, and without them I wouldn’t be the person I am today.
My name is Sephora Cene. I am Haitian which is a huge part of my identity because my culture has shaped me into who I am today. I have many hobbies and I can always try my best to try new things. This was one of the new things I’m trying so I hope you enjoyed it!!
