WASTED TIME/USELESS HOPE

By: Diego Sieto

In ten years, I hope to be
nibbling the ear of my lover
They’ll giggle, and I’ll smile
we’re lost but it;s alright–we’ve
found each other
Of course, I’ll be patient;
I have all the world to wait

Their arms touch my soul,
a warmth that promises I won’t
be alone
Two hearts intertwined,
their love is all mine
I think I’ve made up my mind
whom to spend all my time

But love is a wasting notion
I’ll sit
and I’ll linger,
watching the clock on the walls
Melt with the floor
Time knows no bounds, they
say;
you’ll find the one eventually–
just say

But that day may never come,
engulfed with hope, feeling
numb,
too blind to see the bitter fate
that love may simply forever
hesitate
