Kpop, Music, and Sports

I have many different hobbies of all kinds. Some of which may sound boring, but to me, are very comforting. One of my hobbies is watching shows, especially k-dramas. They are very meaningful to me since they make me feel like I’m in another world. Just like reading books, watching shows can make you feel like you’re there too with all of the characters. I especially love the genre of romance. Watching it, I always find myself giggling at the screen as it can be cheesy and cute. Sometimes, I use it to escape from my problems, to distract myself from feeling sad or anxious and just to enjoy it. In the past, I wouldn’t always be very happy and found myself being anxious a lot of the time, so I used these shows as a tool to make myself happier. Another hobby of mine would be listening to music. I really listen to everything, from genres like r&b to rock. I love music very much. I feel as though it can be very therapeutic and also an escape from reality. Like before, in the past I would be anxious a lot of the time, so listening to music would always cheer me up and bring up my energy. Because of this, I can never leave the house without my airpods. Music is something I find also very fascinating as it has so much meaning and power behind it. I feel as though most people don’t understand how passionate it is and how much it can affect a person. There were times I’d find myself crying from stress. Whenever I felt this way, I would just put on my headphones and let the music soothe my pain. It really is important to me and something I find very important in my life. The last hobby I’d like to mention is doing sports. I’m on both my school’s volleyball and track and field teams. I really love doing sports. Whenever I’m receiving a serve or jumping over a hurdle, I can forget all of my problems. The thing is, when I do sports, the only thing I can think of is that sport and getting better. In track, I do 3 events which are hurdles, high jump and shot put. When doing high jump especially, I feel at peace and am only thinking about trying to jump this specific height. I feel as though there is a button inside me that gets me focused only on getting better or just motivating me in general. Sports are something that many people might not find therapeutic, but for me, it’s the perfect way to end my long, stressful day. My hobbies in general, are very important to me deeply as they are what helps keep me motivated and going everyday. I will never take them for granted and will always keep them in my heart as they are very valuable to me.
